Brain Power

As you may well know, I have been on a journey to heal some of the brain damage that I received as a young infant. As important as it is, eating for a healthy brain is only half of it.

When making the transformation from the duality to the oneness, it becomes apparent that it will also take improving the food for the mind, improving our thoughts to bring about balance, and true healing.  So next time, I will focus on that. But for now, here is some crucial info about foods that are good for the brain…

Curry

cur·ry pow·der
noun
 1. a mixture of finely ground spices, such as turmeric, ginger, and coriander, used for making curry.

from  mercola.com

Curry Powder

“Curry contains turmeric, a spice that in turn contains the anti-inflammatory antioxidant curcumin. Curcumin is capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, which is one reason why it holds promise as a neuroprotective agent in a wide range of neurological disorders.

Research has shown that curcumin may help inhibit the accumulation of destructive beta amyloids in the brain of Alzheimer’s patients, as well as break up existing plaques.1 Curcumin has even been shown to boost memory and stimulate the production of new brain cells, a process known as neurogenesis.

A word to the wise… some curry powders may contain very little curcumin compared to straight turmeric powder, so choose the latter for the best health benefits.”

Flax to the Max from Healthy Brain for Life

“Flax seeds are rich in brain-healthy fats. Fatty acids are known by their “families” in which different forms of fatty acids may be changed or converted. Flax seeds contain ALA of the omega 3 family. It is used to form EPA and DHA, 2 other omega-3 fatty acids that are directly used by the brain to build and protect neurons.

You can sprinkle ground flax seed on cereal or mix in a smoothie. You can soak the seeds and addthem to salad dressings.

To boost your brain to the max, have a tablespoon or two of flax seeds every day.”

Aguacate!

Raw Foods for the Brain! from sunwarrior.com
“Avocado – Avocados are a source of monounsaturated fats, omega 3, and omega 6 fatty acids. These increase blood flow to the brain, lower cholesterol, and aid in the absorption of antioxidants. Avocados also come with many antioxidants of their own, including vitamin E, which protect the body and the brain from free radical damage. They are also a good source of potassium and vitamin K—both protect the brain from the risk of stroke. – See more at: sun warrior brain foods

Nuts – Nuts, especially walnuts and almonds, are extremely good for the brain and nervous system. They are great sources of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, vitamin B6, and vitamin E. Vitamin E has been shown to prevent many forms of dementia by protecting the brain from free radicals, and it improves brain power. Nuts contain some anti-nutrients, like phytic acid. Since we consume a relatively small amount of nuts, this isn’t a huge problem, but they are far healthier if you soak them overnight (about 8 hours) before eating them. –

Tomatoes – Tomatoes contain lycopene, a very powerful antioxidant that combats dementia and may improve mood balance too. – See more at: sun warrior brain foods

When I look at the post from sunwarrior.com, I can imagine having an entire meal that is prepared for this process. I really like to make raw food tacos from walnuts! Oh, and i LOVE to eat them!!! Served with avocado, collard green or green cabbage shells, everything from the sunwarrior list! I would even add a little curry sauce!! Here is a recipe from the vedge.com

40 Day Journey Into Clarity: DAY 19!!

        Apple Infusion

Good Rising! Great Cleansing and Awakenings!

Today is/was Day 19. I have completed the first three Kemetic Weeks of this cleanse/fast: 5 Days Raw, 5 Days Juice. Then 5 days of Waters: water infusions with fresh fruit, herbal teas, coconut water with blue green algae.

(just using stove for table setting, how ironic…)

Followed by TEN STRAIGHT DAYS OF JUST PURE WATER. Now, I am making my way back down: today was Day 4 of Waters. I bought a lovely case of coconuts for the occasion of this cleanse fast , and I am loving this!

Fresh Coconut with Frozen Cell Food…

I kept up all most of my normal duties, well except for stacking firewood…. I walked one dog at a time instead of two at a time like I usually do. But towards the end of the pure water phase, my energy started coming back. I did an internal cleanse, and literally felt my heart open up and release tons of resentment.

Wanna make a smoothie!

Today, I feel amazing, and better than I have in along time. I have lots of energy, been staying up late working on online projects, music, etc. Today’s meditation was VERY powerful and healing, and I am truly grateful for this experience to go deep within and waaaaay back there in the memory banks. In fact, I would even go so far as to say that this was a fast for my physical brain, and all of the trauma that has been stored there.

Today, it felt like the last drops of phenol barbital were being released from my system. I am looking forward eating foods and taking supplements that will continue to allow my brain to heal from treatments I received as an infant and  young girl.

Read here about giving anti-epilepsy drugs to newborns….
Yep. three times a day until age 7.

This is one of the main reasons I went on this quest, to finally get some major healing accomplished around this issue.

Things like Flax Seed Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Udos, Nuts, Blueberries
and E3Live Blue Green Algae from Klamath Lake, OR

Been doing Rain Dance faithfully everyday, and today it is raining!!

The most amazing thing is to know that I CAN LIVE ON JUST PLAIN WATER FOR TEN DAYS. With some coconuts and fruit slices, I could keep on going. In fact, it sounds tempting, but I will start eating raw again in about 5 more days! looking forward to it!

GIVING THANKS!!! Tchiya
